Every pair of Bombas, from dress socks to athletic socks, are comfortable, durable, and thoughtfully designed. They've truly thought of everything.
PEOPLE

PLANET
A certified B-corp, every Bombas purchase is matched with a homeless shelter donation. But, in terms of materials, some sock companies are keeping it cleaner.
PRICE
Can you get a cheaper pair of socks? Definitely. But for high-quality socks that also do good—we say that the price here is worth it.
As much as I'd like to be the type that runs barefoot and wild until my dying days, my life in the mountains begs otherwise.
Hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding. Pine needles, dirt, snow. While all things I love very much, they all happen to be things that demand a well-socked foot.
I need the moisture-wicking power of merino wool to keep my feet cool and dry on long adventures. A warm, comfortable footbed that could endure powder days in ski boots. Arch support that could move between running trails and running errands.
But perhaps most importantly, I need a pair of socks that I can feel good about purchasing.
Enter: Bombas socks.
A treasure of a company that sells kindness as much as it does comfort, Bombas uses their platform to fill a need in homeless shelters everywhere and reminds us that even small decisions—like the socks on your feet—can make a huge positive impact.
Considering Bombas socks? Here's what to think about…
#1. Why are Bombas so expensive?
Let's be practical here. Socks are socks, right? Wrong. Bombas has gone to great lengths to ensure that everything about their socks makes them thebestsocks.
They've elevated the average gym sock in every way possible. Cleaner manufacturing. Higher-quality materials. Re-engineered details. The sock you used to know is gone. Done. Bombas are built to "bee better," and the price reflects that.
PLUS, lest we forget—every pair actually has a buy-one-get-one-free thing going on. It's just that rather than you enjoying the second sock, it'll be going to someone in need. Does human kindness really have a price?
#2. Are Bombas worth it?
My opinion? Bombas are the bomb. The honeycomb arch support feels like a little hug for my feet. They've never given me a blister, and I love knowing that I've voted with my dollar well.
While I'm flattered that you'd take my word for it, the best way to find out if they're worth it is to try them for yourself. On that, Bombas agrees with me.
Their Happiness Team aims for 100% customer happiness. Refunds, exchanges, small talk about socks and their many merits are all covered (nay, encouraged!) with your purchase.
In other words, you've got nothing to lose.
#3. How long should Bombas last?
While this largely depends on how you use them (say, chillin' on the couch v. long distancing running), the bottom line is that Bombas products are high-quality and built to last. Most reviewers report a one-to-three year window before you start to notice normal wear. For some, this window might seem short for a premium sock brand.
But remember that happiness guarantee? Bombas will ship ya' a pair of new socks if yours turn up with holes or other structural damage.
#4. How do you wash Bombas socks?
In this regard, a sockis just a sock. You are free to wash your Bombas like you'd wash your other socks. But if you're really wanting to give them some good TLC, Bombas recommends washing them on a gentle cycle with cold water, and then tumble drying them on low.
Special note: Like most high-quality cotton or wool socks, Bombas will shrink a little the first time they're washed. This shouldn't affect you much—but if you happen to be in-between sizes, you might want to opt for a size up to accommodate a little shrinkage.
#5. Where are Bombas Socks Made?
Bombas socks are made "all over the world, including the US, Taiwan, China, and Peru," to quote one of their FAQs. Bombas seems to have little more than that information available as it relates to the locations and conditions of their manufacturing and supply chains.

Complete Bombas Socks Product Review: Bee Better—Even With Your Socks
The Brass Tacks on Bombas
As far as socks go, Bombas has a pretty sweet origin story. What started as a humble crowdfunding campaign eventually made its way to Shark Tank, where investor Daymond John offered them a deal.
The mission, the shark, and the promise of a be-all-end-all sock created quite a bit of hype around the Bombas brand. I mean, really, it's hard to find somethingnot to love about them.
Except, of course, for the price. A single pair of socks from Bombas costs anywhere from $12-$18. Even with an incredible mission, above-and-beyond happiness guarantee and truly wonderful product, this price tag can be hard to swallow.
And I get it. It is. But for me, the goodness-to-price ratio is solid. Not only do you get a comfy, long-lasting sock, but you get to support a super positive mission. This is a purchase I can feel good about.
Bombas seems to get it too. They pretty consistently offer 20% off your first order, plus Refer A Friend and Free Shipping bonuses.
Then there's the happiness guarantee I keep singing praises of. It really is that good. If you're unsatisfied for any reason, they want to make it right.
Okay, one more thing. The socks are made to last through hikes or high water. The quality is well above that inexpensive, bulk purchase tube sock (I know you know the one), which means you'll probably need to buy fewer socks, less often.
That makes Bombas a sock-appropriate investment. You're getting the quality and lifespan of a few pairs of socks with a single purchase of a Bombas pair. A pretty sustainable buy if you ask me.
All that considered, the price remains high for a sock. So it goes.
The Bombas Site Experience
The Bombas website is simple, well organized, and easy to use. You can find individual pairs of youth socks, men's socks, women's socks, and sock packs as well as t-shirts and sweatpants. But I came for the socks.
A filter sidebar allows you to sort by occasion—running, grippers, golf—by pack size, sock height or color. Tennis socks, you ask? I know. I don't even like tennis but I ended up with a pair in my cart. Tennis ball yellow is an all-sport color, okay?
Once you've narrowed it down (until next time, compression socks), shipping is quick. That's a major plus. I'm not a patient gal. My feet were cold, unsupported, and sad for like, five days.
Then my socks arrived! The packaging was cheery. Colorful and bright. I smelled them. They didn't smell like anything. I turned them over in my hands as if they were precious gemstones. I smiled. Maniacally danced about the room. Then settled in to review the adorable note card that came with the socks.
A "Powered by Kindness" header gave way to a list of 52 Random Acts of Bombas. I read through a list of weekly do-good ideas ranging from "Surprise your coworkers with doughnuts" to "Run errands for an elderly neighbor" with warm, snug feet.
That was a nice day.
Bombas Socks Style Reviews
1. Bombas No Show Socks Review
Bombas has done a great job of making an incredibly functional piece out of a sock that's supposed to look and feel like it's not there.
A lightweight fabric blend and seamless toe lend to the "did I put socks on this morning?" feel that a no-show should have. The stay-put heel grip helps your sweet, lil' no-show stand up to your shoes, and they pair great with our mutual friend—the Allbird Wool Runners.
The one thing to take note of here is that the aforementioned shrinkage can be a little more impactful with a delicate fit like a no-show.

2. Bombas Merino Wool Socks Review
The fact that they are so big on the merino wool game is actually one of the reasons I decided to look into Bombas in the first place.
If you don't already know, merino wool is an incredible moisture-wicking fabric that nullifies sweat, stink, and negative thoughts on even the longest feats of endurance. It's always my preference when I'm up to no good outdoors, and Bombas seriously delivers on this front.
It's higher performance than simple cotton and has been a reliable ally in my Bombas Ski Socks. My husband's snow boots have to live outside—mine I could cuddle up with. And it's all thanks to the merino wool.

3. Bombas Dress Socks Review
Bombas claims to have tested nearly 100 tension levels when engineering their dress sock. And it seems like the testing paid off.
Ultra sleek and lightweight, their dress socks sport a streamlined take on the features behind Bombas' more athletic socks. You still get the honeycomb arch support and achilles cushion, but with the classic dress sock fit and look.
We love that they pivoted to include dress socks. Having one brand for all of your foot jacket needs is amazing.

4. Bombas Hiking Socks Review
Ugh, bravo. Just bravo, Bombas. For me, the perfect hiking sock is calf height, cushion-y enough to soften the blow of miles upon miles afoot yetstill breathable enough that my feet don't overheat.
Bombas really excels with that. They've boosted the airflow venting on their hiking socks to promote cool, dry feet as well the cushioning along both the footbed and leg. You can opt for cotton blend or merino wool socks. (You know where my allegiance lies.)
Check out Bombas' Hiking Socks (Women, Men).
5. Bombas Running Socks Review
Similar to their hiking socks, Bombas' running socks feature added breathability to keep your feet dry and cool. They made waves in the sock world with an innovative blister tab that prevents the heel of your shoe from making contact with your skin.
Unfortunately for me, the ankle socks I pounded pavement in kept slipping below the edge of my dang shoe. I prefer calf socks anyway, where this problem is never even a possibility.
Check out Bombas' Running Socks (Women, Men).
6. Bombas Compression Socks
If there's one thing we've learned, it's that Bombas does a stellar job with the performance details. Their compression socks are no exception here, mastering the blend of comfort and compression-like only Bombas can do.
The pitfall here is the price. At $18 a pop, you better really, really want some nice compression socks. And if you do, I think you'll find these will be a pleasant investment.

Deep Dive — What is So Special About Bombas Socks?
Features & Benefits
"The Most Comfortable Socks In The History Of Feet"
You can't make a marketing claim like that without some features to support it. Luckily, Bombas has quite a few:
- Seamless Toe: Their innovative toe seam makes sure there is no toe seam at all. They've eliminated that irritating seam putting pressure on your toes. Major comfort points.
- Honeycomb Arch Support System:The honeycomb support is my favorite part about Bombas. It squeezes the arch of your foot, offering much-needed support and boosting the shape and fit of the sock.
- Y-Stitched Heel:Similar to the seamless toe and honeycomb support, the y-stitched heel is all about maximizing comfort. By reducing the number of seams in high-friction areas, they can boost the barely-there feel.
- Stay-Up Technology:Sometimes this manifests in the perfect amount of tension, sometimes it's a subtle heel grip. But in both cases, it's an essential tool in keeping your sock exactly where it's supposed to be, all. day. Long.
- Blister Tab:Remember the days when the back of your shoe would rub on your ankle? Never again. No matter how far you run, Bombas' innovative blister tab will keep your ankles safe from any and all friction.
- Hex-Tec:In the Bombas world, hex-tec is basically another word for high-performance. Reserved for their most athletic designs, hex-tec technology means more durability, breathability and moisture-wicking power.
- Merino Wool:We brushed over this before, but I personally never tire of merino wool talk. A super-soft natural fiber, merino wool is naturally moisture-wicking, eliminating sweat and smell like it's his job.
- Purchase-Matched Donations:Yeah, we're going there again because it's the superlative of all features and benefits. Bombas matches every purchase with a donation to someone in need. As of today, Bombas has donated 36,071,479 items, and that number just keeps going up and up and up.
- 100% Happiness Guarantee:Don't like it? Slips a lot? Ordered the wrong size? Holes in toes? Talk to their Happiness Team. They are big on happiness. Yours in particular.
Bombas Socks Reviews Elsewhere: What's the Feedback?… 💬
It's tough to do an authentic-sounding product review of a product with so few flaws. But—they're really that good! And I'm not the only one shouting it from the rooftops. Reviews around the web are overwhelmingly positive:
Alternatives to Bombas Socks
1. Pact
While a bit less performance-focused, Pact makes lovable, fair-trade certified socks (and clothes!) with all organic cotton. There's a few differences—Pact is more of a clothing-first brand, so there's far less sock styles and colors. This is a great option for daily use socks, with a one-size fits most model and a penchant for neutral, everyday colors.
The biggest contrast to Bombas socks is that a pair of socks from Pact will cost you just $8. The sock-tech is far more simple, but if you want a reliable pair of sustainably-made socks, this could be in the lineup for your new go-to!
Check out Pact here!
2. Boody
If you're a fan of simple, sustainable basics, then you'll be a fan of Boody. Let's start with their ethics—Boody is EcoCert certified, meets Oeko-Tex standards, Forest Stewardship Council certified, and PETA vegan approved. In short, they're doing everything they can to make sure the product they sell is supremely eco-friendly and ethically-made.
Whew. Impressive. In terms of socks, they keep it simple with basic colors and a few well-crafted styles. They strike somewhere in-between Bombas and Pact in terms of sock-tech. Prices range from $9-$15.
What's extra super cool about these guys is that they work exclusively with bamboo textiles. There's quite a few ecological reasons that they do so. You can read about 'em on their page.
3. Conscious Step
Similar to Bombas, Conscious Step makes socks that give back. Every sock is tied to a different nonprofit organization. There's Socks That Give Water, Socks That Fight Malaria, Socks That Stop Violence, and more.
Mostly a collection of basic crew socks, their product page features fun designs that match the cause you're supporting. As a Fairtrade, GOTS, Vegan Certified product, and a fellow 1% for the Planet company, you're bound to feel good about this one—even if your arch gets a little less support than you'd get with Bombas.
Even though their price point is similar to Bombas, we classify these more as a fun sock than a performance sock. They'd make an excellent purpose-driven, eco friendly gift. (My birthday is in July, if, you know, you're wanting to make someone's day.)
Conclusion: Join the Beehive
It's rare that doing something good for yourself also means doing something good for others. But, Bombas makes that easy.
It makes it so easy, in fact, that it's a bit existential (hang with me here, this product review isalmostdone).
If a decision as small as the pair of socks on your feet have the power to make a difference in someone else's life, what else can? (Well, actually, we have a lot of ideas about that in our social good blog) You can even pair your Bombas with your favorite sustainable shoe brand.
Needless to say, I like this concept. I also like the supportive, breathable comfort of all my Bombas socks. I have a hunch that you will too.
